Hi, My 225 / has a 350 holley with long runner intake, i've had a valve job done, heads been ported and polished and compression bumped up to 9.5:1. It has new ignition setup and coil+ new exhaust with headers etc. The car is a fun street car, I'll take it to the strip a few times but nothing two serious. Question is what kind of Cam should I get? I don't see any harm in wanting a higher RPM range. But I really am a newbie at this and I'd appreciate some help. I looked at this one from pentastarparts GRIND # : SL6-2 DESCRIPTION : Slight idle lope, increase mid-range horsepower & torque. RPM RANGE : 1500-5200 RECOMMENDED TRANSMISSION : Any ADVERTISED DURATION : 264° / 264° DURATION @ .050'' : 216° / 216° VALVE LIFT (1.5:1 RR) : 417° / 417° LOBE SEPERATION : 110° RUNNING CLEARANCE : .015" / .015" It seemed pretty good, but does anyone know another cam that will give me even higher RPM |

Doc's RV 10 would be my first choice, RV 15 2nd choice and the Erson RDP 280/270 3rd. From mild to wild.....

Don't go too crazy with the cam or you may end up having to increase the stall speed of your torque converter. Unless of course you're already planning to do that. |

Thanks for the advice I don't have plans to upgrade the stall converter was just hoping to reach 5500 without the engine crying for help. Seems one of those Cams mentioned above will be the way to go. Anyone know of a supplier that might ship to Australia...? |

5500 rpm from a 225........you say you've a valve job done, does that mean you've had bigger valves put in? As long as you get the head breathing well 5500 should be OK........as long as the bottom end is up to it as well. As far as getting the cam, as long as you know the specs you should be able to get one ground(or is it grinded ) in Aus. |
