Hi, I for a daily driver/ fun street car around 200 - 350 HP will having solid discs on the front and stock drum breaks on the back suitable? And is there much difference between solid and ventilated? or is it just the rotor and I'd be able to change this over? One last question then, I am looking at this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 500wt_1154 Please no one try out bid me:P It says conversion for a vc ve vf REGAL will this therefore not work with my standard VC Valiant? I didn't think there was a difference. |

All the US disc brake cars have vented rotors. Just like plain drums and finned drums the plain rotors aren't going to cool as quickly and recover from hard use. The car's horsepower doesn't matter nearly as much as the intended use of the vehicle. For instance my 2400 lb 132hp daily driver has vented front discs and I can fade them without much trouble on a race track. It would be very difficult to fade them on the street where brake applications are most always less frequent, from lower speeds and not at the threshold of lock-up. |

Vented. You usually can't change from solid to vented by just changing the rotor as the vented discs are thicker and need a different caliper. |
