Can the just the axleshafts be swapped between A-body Mopar 7 1/4" rear ends somewhat easily, or would it be easier to swap the entire rear axle? I have a '67 Valiant with the SBP 7 1/4 and was looking at options of swapping to the larger bolt pattern on the rear. I found a '74 Dart 7 1/4" rear somewhat locally with the big bolt pattern, but I'm not sure if they interchange. |

To go from small bolt pattern to large you have to swap the whole axle assembly. The shafts do not interchange. We discussed this recently. http://slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=287053 |

Josh is right,The Mopar performance book that says this can be done is wrong. |
