In an A-Body that would be pretty much "no."

You might have clearance to remove the pan and do this in the Satellite. I don't know.

There are a couple of reasons you won't want to do this.

1. It is a miserable job spent spitting old motor oil and cleaning it off your safety glasses so you can see what your doing.

2. Sealing the pan effectively is best done with the engine upside down on a stand.

If you find you have room to remove the pan and do this work, let us know how it goes. I accomplished this job once on a BB in a truck. It was the least enjoyable hobby-wrenching experience I've had to date. And that was over 20 years ago.

It can be done in a B body..I did it myself once. Took two days, including the rear main seal. That being said, I'm not an ace mechanic, but I know what I'm doing... Do you? Not something a novice should try.
