| Post subject: | Brake Sentinel Switch |
What is it, where is it, do I have one on my 77 D100? I just replaced the failed bulbs and holders on my dash printed circuit board. The BRAKE light is on. I adjusted the switch at the emergency brake pedal and it's still on. Looking at the wire diagram, there appears to be another switch, a sentinel switch. I asume it is watching guard over some brake function and I will eventually find it and fix it, but wanted to get a jump on things. I have a new baby now and find more time to think about things than to do things. I'd like to have your collective help in thinking this out and then when I get 5 minutes I'll have a better chance of correcting the prob. Thanks all, richie |

Should be for low pressure and on master cylinder or on top of brake proportioning valve if like mine valve is on frame rail d/s just under firewall. If this one is it adjust brakes in rear, check for leaks and if all else fails replace shoes etc as needed. Also check front pads BOTH sides. lol shadetree |

You can also pull the wire off the sending unit in the brake junction box and clean it off, and make sure it has a good connection. Might not work, but it's free. |
