| Post subject: | Looking for a radiator for a 65 belvedere II.. Where to buy? |
Hey guys. I just found out that my radiator is officially busted. I have checked EVERYWHERE and cannot find one for this car! Ive checked ebay, 1800 radiator, almost everything. All of the ones I found on ebay have the lower radiator hose connection in the wrong spot, or dont have an automatic trans cooler. I am wondering if you guys know of any radiators that will work on my car, possibly one from another car with the 225 that will bolt right up. My budget is around $250. I dont want to have mine re-cored because it has 230,000 miles on it and just needs to be replaced overall. I searched a thread and found this radiator, but I am wondering if it will work on my car: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... MEWAX%3AIT |

If you re-core yours you are replacing it! The only parts that are reused are the top/bottom tanks and the side brackets-they will replace the tranny cooler if you ask. At this point it is a new radiator. The core is every thing between the two tanks. The core comes with new fins/tubes. |

Most likely they make them new. Or get them from some one that does make them new.If you email the vendor and tell them what you are looking for they can help you. Also do not think that the picture is the actual radiator you are buying, most likely it is a stock photo. Ask them-tell them what you have and what you need. They should be able to help |

The guy said it doesnt have a trans cooler, and he does not sell one with them. With that said I checked a few more things, and searched for a valiant radiator on ebay.. They both are identical in size, and look the same. Here is a link to the ones I found, so tell me what you think. Heres the first one I found.. its says its for a 69-70 belvedere with the 225 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PLYMOUTH ... 53d2ccc8d1 heres the next one i found.. it says its for a 70-72 duster http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PLYMOUTH ... 27b105e039 heres another one for a 67-73 valiant http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PLYMOUTH ... 2799c675e4 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PLYMOUTH ... 2a06533a10 It looks like everything will work, only question I have is would the trans lines still hook up the same? So basically i am just wondering if the trans cooler lines will bolt right up, without modification |

this may not be what you are after, but summit sells aluminum rads for about $160, brackets about $20, and then you can hook up after market trans cooler in front.hard to beat the price for a new radiator. |

Just a little update on this for anyone interested I couldnt find the exact replica of the OEM radiator I had in my 65 belvedere, but I found one that was similar that I thought would work, and it did, perfectly! Its for a 67 68 69 70 VALIANT http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... MEWNX%3AIT EDIT: It looks like they DOUBLED the price of this radiator! I only payed $107 for it through this auction, and now its $214!!! It was the same size as my old radiator. Only things I had to do were to modify the trans lines (using rubber trans cooler hoses) to fit properly. (my trans lines didnt line up with the radiator, and they snapped anyway lol) 3 days and shes running nice and cool, no leaks of any kind. Only problem with the radiator is it got a little damaged in shipping.. the bottom hose neck was a little bent, but I fixed it rather easily |
