Post subject:  Rough Idle

Hey just joined this forum today...
Got a 1966 Dart with of course a slant six. Well, it seems I'm baffled...
It has a Holley carb on it and I cannot get this sucker to idle right. I get a good idle in neatral then when I shift into Drive the idle falls on its face. Any suggestions

Or the Damper can slip. You need to get the #1 to TDC compression and work from there.

Once you know the damper is OK, you may need to loosen the other bolt, on the bottom of the distributor, in order to get more travel and the correct timing adjustment.
And yes, also check the valve lash adjustment.

adjust the valves first.....it's easy and regardless, the car probably needs it anyway.
