I just read yesterday a very very brief statement in the local paper that the US gov't approved E15 - what does that mean to us?

Most likely nothing for now...........

E15 is approved for 2007 and newer vehicles.

A gas station will either have to add a seperate tank for the E15 or use the premium or regular E10 tank. Losing either the premium or regular tank would also get rid of the mid-grade......

Since most vehicles are older than 2007, I don't see any stations switching to E15 from E10 and losing business.

Oregon did a test run without telling us...they shipped E15 and kept the E10 labels on the pumps to see if anybody would notice...they finally printed a note an the 3rd page of the local section of the newspaper saying that E15 would stop being used in Feb. of this year and they'd go back to E10 and it was part of a test group...

I didn't notice that much since our gas quality is crap anyway...

Our area got a big batch of E10+? with way too much ethanol in it a few months back - many cars died on the road. The state of VA admited there was a problem, but refused to reveal which stations were involved. It wasn't clear from the paper how much damage, if any, had been done to the cars.
