On the super six manifold I just bought there is some sort of canister mounted to it, that is linked to the base of the carb by a rubber tube. My 1 bbs setup didn't have this (course it was a 64 and the new stuff is from a 78 ). When converting to s super six, do you leave this item operational, or do you remove it? |

Sounds like a piece of the EGR equipment. If your car doesn't have that, dump it and block the vacuum outlet at the carb . Olaf. |

If it is connected by the 3/8 ID hose,it is the PCV valve. Is it the item I pointed to and said it was the original one because it had the mopar pent-star logo and paint over-spray? You can block the hose off if your valve cover doesn't have the provision to install it,but just save it somewhere,20 years from now, you or some resto guy will want it.If your remove your valve cover to adjust the valves, you could upgrade to a late 60s-late 70s one to utilize the pcv system, and the air cleaner also has the fitting you'll need.I can send pics if you have any questions. |
