| Post subject: | Gasket replacement |
Stuck again. I am trying to remove a 67 int/exh manifold as 1 but cant get to the very center bottom. Also tried to seperate the two but the bolts have bonded very nicely and refuse to come out with mild persuasion. All thats left is the stubborn 1. Any ideas. I tries the search but couldn't find what I needed. Thanks again for the assistance. |

On a stock set you can usually get in there with a 1/4" socket extension and a 1/2" or 13mm socket. When you get them apart...take some time with a die grinder and take the casting flash ridge off the upper part of the exhaust manifold in that location, then next time you can use a 3/8" extension instead. I have noticed on the later 1 barrel intaek manifolds they have a "hump" at the bottom of the plenum that makes straight access a bit of a challenge. Good luck, -D.Idiot |

I tried the 1/2 swivel with a longer ext. Ill give that a try tomorrow so as to avoid the frustration factor. Thanks. |
