Just double checking: Installing a 198 crank/rod combo into a 225 block makes it a 198 right? It will fit with no modification? Wanting to build a 198 in the future. Thanks |

AFAIK yes, that's the only difference. What you could do is take those 198 rods and stick them on a 225 crank, then you would have a long rod 225. ~RDE~ |

Yep, crank and rods are the only difference between a 198 and a 225. I bought a remanufactured 198 short block a while back. I sold the rods and crank out of it. I used the money to rebuild some 225 rods with ARP bolts, and polish a 225 crank. |

Thanks guys, thats what I thought. THOR- I know about the long rod motor. But I want to build a 198 for my future turbo build. Im liking the 1.92 R/S ratio, and shorter stroke for winding it up. |
