Well maybe...

Since my Engine is apart i have been throwing around ideas. I have a set of Arias forged pistons with a piston deck height that is .130 taller than a stock piston, all thing being the same in my engine now would put me at 10-1. I am Running the Erson 270 FYI.

Now i also have a head that has not been shaved and would drop compression probly to low nines-1.

The Question is are these number so asstronomicly high for the 6 or so psi i'll get out of supercharger? I want a fun car and i'm not afraid to put in the work to get it running well, i just feel with the lower boost i can play with the higher compression a bit let me know if im just thinking to much

With the 30 over stock piston and 8-1 comp and the supercharger, Nitrous as well startes to creep into my mind

You can get away with 10-1. Just keep it below 8 psi. and watch your timing. Also think about meth injection

Triston what kind of fuel are you willing to run? Is it going to be street/track driven or just track?

Street/mostly track. We have a station that has Amco 110... Pump friendly would be nice but i want to start pushing the limit a bit...

Im looking into the Meth Injection if i can keep it at 91 or so octane i'm diving in to the 10-1 set up.

Will have O2 bung welded in to header before i fire it.

A centrifugal supercharger doesn't give you much boost at low rpms.............

Niether does a turbo........till it's spooled then its good.

I'd rather have a predictable launch. Slow is good....but then again could pully it to boost up quicker. I'm not going to be the guy waiting at the green light cause the boost guage isn't up yet....turbo...

Unless you use a really big turbo built for the most top end power, the lag is not going to be that bad. Not to mention you can build up boost by holding the brake and giving it a little gas,so you leave the line with 5-10 psi of boost.

Yea i know. but in a game where .001 can loose i want the car to be kind of consistant, and the centrifugal will play into that. Slant racing is bracket.... Hey Gent were you building a supercharged car a while back?

That is true!

I was not building one personally, but I was helping a friend build one. 360 in a 78 dodge truck.

Ok so small steps so far, I have got the lower end buttoned up and it puts my compression at 9.25-1 with the uncut head.

Also got the 2bbl 500 to index for boost. Getting close to running! I hope..

Triston, it looks good.
How are you going to handle the timing with the boost?

Alright i have got the engine together and will have it in the car within the next few days. I will be running it NA to get it smogged and registered so i can drive it. I still have to get the pullys worked out and the carb has some clearance issues with the spacer i have so it will be a little bit before it will see any pressure.

It will be pretty tall with the carb hat and all the plumbing, hope i don't have to cut my hood!

Triston, Why do you need the spacer with boost??
