Does anyone know how to mount a turbo or centrifugal blower on a 225 slant six?

IF you don't have money for the bolt on kit it comes down to build it yourself....

Both set ups are custom builds, unless you have 6 grand for the procharger kit....

How did you get power to it? Did you add an extra pulley somewhere? Did you fab up your own exhuast? What about the carb hat? What is that turbo off of?
Are you going to be using an intercooler? Would love to see bigger shots of this, and of the completed setup!
Looks awesome so far!

Hey what happens to the mileage of the car with a turbo on it?

Thats a supercharger it is belt driven he hasnt finished it yet so i'm sure he has a carb hat to go on later most centrifugal superchargers dont build much heat so an intercooler isnt a big deal on one of those. You would get better gas mileage with as turbo setup since it's not belt driven and it runs more efficiently and it not making boost when your just normally driving with little load on the motor. With his supercharger setup i'm sure he would just be using what ever headers he wants since you don't need to plum the exhaust like you would with a turbo header setup.

I'm in the process of finishing my turbo 225 for my duster should be loads of fun.

Any idea where he got the blower? The cheapest one I can find is 3 grand. Maybe I could yank one off of a junkyard car.

Yup it's still being fabbed up, still putting the forged pistons together.

I got extreemly lucky to get this piece. A gentelman i had just met found out i am a mechanic and asked if i could pull a part off his truck that was making a horrible sound and he would pay me, so i said of coure thinking it was probly just an iddler pully gone out. Well it wasn't an idler pully it was a supercharger, I got it off and he tells me if i want it i can have it  . The front bearing had gone bad it cost me a whole $7.85 to fix it, he paid me $200....Kind of like getting hit by lightning but in a good way.

It would be amazing to find one of these in a junk yard, around here the junk yard mechanics go thru the cars before they even hit the lot... so big money items like this, normally don't even find there way out there.
Some of the buick regals have a supercharged model its a draw thru set up but you may be able to find one of those.

I just need to figure out what cars to look in. Around here the only people who hit junkyard are mostly poor. They just need parts to keep their beat-up cars running.

I actually came across a 6-71 blower once that was $95.00. I pulled it and sent it to my wife's dad.

Another thing you find is late model computers. Most of the folks there have early to mid 80s cars.

The advantage of living right between a major urban city and a rural area.

This is my turbo setup, sitting unused for now. It's made from late 70s Buick V6 Regal draw thru turbo setup. IF, somehow, somewhere, you scored the main housing and turbo, the fabrication to get this on the slant isn't that complicated and requires nothing pricey except the carb.
