what has anybody been using for a throttle cable in the A vans to mate to the BBD's? i think the cable i have is a little shorter that i'd like it to be. i am not real happy with the angle it pulls from. D~~~! |

I modified my 1 barrel intake to run a BBD parallel with the engine, used the original linkage/bellcrank/bracket that bolts to the intake/exhaust, then made my own linkage from that bellcrank up to another bracket/bellcrank....then linkage to the carb. If I can ever figure out how to post pics here.... |

I used a VW style cable on mine 225 Super 6 in my A100 van. Works real well too...I used a big piece of hard brake line and bent the end up twards the carb and ran the VW style cable thru that to help keep the cable from getting too hot. <a href="http://s269.photobucket.com/albums/jj52 ... esetup.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj52 ... esetup.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> I also replaced the stock pedal with a new style. <a href="http://s269.photobucket.com/albums/jj52 ... seup-1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj52 ... seup-1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s269.photobucket.com/albums/jj52 ... inkage.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj52 ... inkage.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> Hope this helps ya out.. email me at kent@kltcustoms.com if you need anymore help! |

I did mine with a Weber DGV to keep things in perspective with the 1 bbl and had the same problem as you. I got my cable from here, http://www.gokartsupply.com/thcable.htm I forget what lenght I used, it was either the 53 or 60. For the underside I just used one of those angle brackets used for wood and bolted it in place under the pedal. Hokey, yes but has been working for over 5 years now. |

I was able to keep the rod linkage but I modified it and made some new pieces. I still have to work out some kinks but it was real simple. main bugs are im a hair off of full throttle and the kickdown rod needs to be a little longer. but a cable system would probably work better |
