Hi,
I have access to a front end clip from a 71 Demon. Does anyone know it this can be converted to my 65 Dart and how much trouble it would be? The rear 11" drums are also included in the package.

What do you mean by "front end clip?" I have always understood this to mean the sheetmetal- fenders, hood, grille, front bumper, etc..., yet your question talks about brakes.

If you are asking about the sheetmetal- no way it will fit.

If you are asking about the front suspension and brake components, yes, they absolutely will fit. I once swapped the ten inch drums from a 72 Demon onto a 66 Dart and it all bolted right on. The rear drums should also bolt on, but you would have to swap everything from the backing plates outward.

I am refering to the suspension. The guy selling it called it a clip. Do you feel that $250 is a fair price? Do I need to convert to power brakes? I'm trying to figure the overall costs.

Is it a small bolt pattern (SBP) set up or LBP?

If everything is in good shape, then $250 would be a fair price for a fully working, good condition small bolt pattern power brake system with finned ten inch drum brakes and good condition and working 11 inch rear drum brakes.

Doc makes a good point about the LBP vs. SBP setups. If the Demon parts are LBP, then you won't be able to swap the rear drum brakes onto your car.
If your current rear axle is SBP, then the 11" rear drum brakes won't work, and you would be stuck with LBP front brakes and SBP rear brakes.

Hey Guys,

The Demon has a large bolt pattern with disc brakes. At some point in time it must of had a conversion done it came with drums from the factory. The guy also has the rear axle and brakes. All for $250

I thought 71 "A" bodies (Demon) had either 9 or 10 inch rear brakes, not 11 inch.

I have come across two A-body rear axles with 11 inch drums. Maybe someone in the past swapped them out?

If everything is in good shape, then $250 is a very good price for a complete LBP disc brake conversion and LBP rear axle. It will all bolt in to your Dart. Be sure to get the hard brake lines up front, the master cylinder and brake booster, and the metering/proportioning valve.
