Changed carburetor, ignition coil, ignition rotor, ignition resistor, distributor cap, battery

Something goes bad when the engine is hot. Truck will surge and stall will back fire when trying to start up. What could be wrong? Could it be the timing belt?

OK its a 82-does that mean that it is a lean burn engine? It runs ok when cold but when it warms up it craps out? Could be EGR is stuck on or a temp sensor for the engine controls is bad/unplug. Have you checked all the vacuum lines?

Possibly a vacuum leak at the intake manifold that develops or gets worse as the engine warms up.

Could be any one of a number of things. First, no slant six ever used a timing belt. These motors use timing chains. Second, if this is a 1982 truck, it very well might have some form of lean burn system controlling the carburetor, ignition system, or both. We need more info. Pictures of the carburetor and distributor would be even more helpful.
