i have a 1962 dodge dart i'am restoring it and had the dash out, putting the dash back together i notice a wire comming from the back side of the controls that you have for your heat the push buttons and the slide bar. i don't know where the other end of the wire connects too, can anyone help or knows what it attaches too, the wire is only about 8" long with a single end. so it cans go too far, it looks like an original wire. thanks

Any more clues like the color of the wire, what kind of terminal is on it and where it is attached on the control unit?

My guess... orange color.
If so, that is for the instrument lights, in this case, the back-light for the pushbuttons.
