i installed mine today, its the proper gauge (10, 70 ohms) however the gauge will go up to where the fuel level is but then jerks to the left and back to where it was constantly. what can cause this? is it my sending unit just not working right? |

The gauge flops around because its a 12 volt gauge, and reacts to movement of the float in the tank much more radically than the factory gauge. The one in the dart does the same thing. The reason the original ones don't do that is because they are a 5 volt gauge, so they don't react nearly as fast. |

has anyone else had this issue before? im just curious because similar problems aren't always the same and i want to see if there are any other people who ran into this but maybe found a way around it. |

Factory gauges are "dampened" so they don't wildly variate. Aftermarket gauges are much less concerned with this as most people install them for "performance" reasons and want a "true" and "accurate" reading. |
