Post subject: | engine dumped in school yard in 1990 |
My girl friend Mary told me the story about her first car, it was a 1974 2 door Plymouth Valiant slant six auto... when I first met her, say 8 years ago. I had a few mopars then. She went on to tell how she and her brother dumped an old motor, that was the old SL6 motor out of her car, as she got a replacement for the car from its trunk... they dumped it into a school yard, in 1990... she was 22, her brother 16. I said "lets ee if we can find it" ..we did last week, b4 the snow. I'll give you a carton of beer for it,maybe even a packet of ciggies as well. You have to pay postage to Australia though. |

This is odd that dumped engine is in school's yard... someone would had noticed and taken it away as clean-up to keep hazards down? yet, still good to get it and given to someone who can restore it, unless there is a hole busted out by thrown rod? Cheers, Wizard |

it's the parking lot part of the school yard. down over say a 1 foot hill, aprox 6 ft in from curb.yet, still good to get it and given to someone who can restore it, unless there is a hole busted out by thrown rod? Cheers, Wizard but I was surprised it was there too. |

Are you sure it wasn't idling when the photos were taken?

I would love to see pictures and videos of the recovery, teardown, and startup. If you can get the motor to turn over, I bet you could bolt on an oil pan and all the external bits and fire it up. It might run like crap, but I bet it would run! |
