The outlet size of the IHI turbo I am using is 2", the inlet and outlet on the intercooler are 2".

Is there any benefit in upsizing the piping to the carb hat? An "accumulator" type function? Better or worse tunability?

I will have 30" or so of tubing w/ 1 bend turbo to I/C, 48" or so from I/C to carb w/ 1 bend

I/C is on the small size, roughly 12"x14"x3".

Also, should the BOV be placed as close as possible to the carb hat, maybe even integral to it?

I would step up the pipe size to slow down the air so turns into the carburetor more easily.

Is that a Toyota intercooler?

1993 Toyota MR2- I looked at a lot of intercoolers and this one, while certainly not overkill, has the best inlet/outlet configuration for my application.

That may be easy to plumb, but Toyota intercoolers aren't very good from a flow standpoint. I would measure the pressure drop and see if you can live with it.

Will do... it falls into the something's better than nothing category.

Not necessarily. If the boost has to be cranked up to overcome the pressure drop then more heat is put into the air. You'll need to measure the inlet and outlet temperatures and pressures to see what kind of density improvements the intercooler provides.
