I am new here and made the leap from a 318 to a 225, guy traded me straight across so we are both happy.
Question if it has not been asked already. The 225 is coming out of a 67 Dart and I get everything I need as he is going V8/4sp, will his motor mount brackets fit on my 65 Barracuda V8 K member?
Will his pan/pickup fit my K member? I got a post saying I need these 3 pieces from a 63-66 in order for it to be a true bolt in.
I can weld (as long as you dont have to see it) and have a big hammer and am not afraid to modify anything. I just need some good scoop on this. I cant alter the K too much as I still have a 408 on the stand getting built that I want to put in there eventually, but the 6 will get me back driving a car that I have not driven in years! Im goiung to post a want add for these parts if they are required. Ive been a V8 guy for 27 years so a slant is voodoo to me.

Motor mounts will be different and maybe the trans cross member too. I have seen /6 - V8 motor mounts but not sure for the other way around.

Welcome to the slanted side. lol

You do need the '63-'66 oil pan, pickup tube and motor mounts. The transmission cross member is the same. The early A-body K-members are the same V8 or slant so no change there. An F-body oil pan and pickup tube can be massaged slightly to fit. Read this: http://www.slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic ... sal#221434

Does someone know if the pan in this link is the same as the 369 oil pan mentioned by Doc as the "universal" pan in the link above? ('68 SL6 for '63 Dart)

Olaf.

It looks like the 369 pan to me. Long, shallow front, drain plug on the side and a rounded rear section that's deeper than an early A-body.

Pishta, it may take a bit of work... but this is defiantly a drive to lunch mobile... then you drive to the store... then to the mountains... then to Alaska... then you drive home... and do it all over again
