There are two kinds of gasket for the manifolds-to-head and intake-to-exhaust junctions that are known to work especially well. There are many kinds that are known to work okeh if you are careful and lucky. Manifold swaps are a pain in the neck, back, gut, and butt. How lucky do you feel?

Thanks for the link Dan.
Not worried about the exhaust to intake connection as I brazed in a shunt in lieu of the flap. It's a cali. thing.

I see some here like it(Corteco) as a second best to the remflex, well, at least one does.
I paid 11$ and change some years ago.

Not a wise mod. Intake manifold heat is good, not bad, for reasons that have nothing to do with where you live or what the ambient temperatures are.

I'm all ears.

...guess I'll chop it in half and leave the heat flap alone.(other than to make sure it is working)

What symptoms would one experience with an always open flap and overheating of the manifold? Vapor lock?
