SS Dan, a question for you. Do you know if in the dim mists of time,did any of the early Valiants that came to Australia have the 170 or 198 engines?
I have never heard it mentioned by our local gurus on all things Mopar.

I believe that only 225 engines were sold in Australia. This is my recollection from people here, and from conversations with Cameron Tilley. Lou |

Yes, 225 only were sold down-under... Although... I have shipped a few 170 to friends in Oz in years past. They say that a 170 A-body (R series) does pretty well in the 3 liter racing classes. DD |

there was 1 1960 qx valiant which was shipped to aus as a test car (left hand drive) it was wrapped around a tree doing test runs, so one production 170 in aus. I also know of 2 others going into cars. One of them is a genuine hyper pak. |

I vaguely remember reading about those Q cars. were they all 170's?Do you know of any written articles detailing them? regards,Rod

yes the 1960 valiants were all 170 engines. There is a small red sales booklet called valiant it comes up on ebay time to time. |
