Ryan and I disassembled his 4 speed OD this evening and I have a question. The spacer tube inside the cluster gear is not solid. It is split end to end. I noticed that on each end of the tube there is a noticeable gap. The center about 4 inches of the tube is tight together. But on each end it is opened up some. Is this normal? Something to worry about. This is just a spacer if I'm not mistaken and can't see how it would have been spread apart in normal operation. Want to start reassembly tomorrow. Thanks, Rick |

I already assembled it. I'm sure it will be Ok. It is only a spacer. But the funny thing (Not really so funny) was that when I packed all the new bearings into my cluster gear, guess what I had left over. 1 bearing!! Rick |
