There is printing on one side and none on the other, The smoother print side looks to be the front and the back is more of an unfinished texture. Does the smooth side (printed) go toward the head? Its the inexpensive black one, about $12.00. My intake and exhaust are laser straight and the head is about as good as it gets too. Very god shape.

Doesn't matter which way its installed.

Cool, I put the smooth side toward the head just in case...I think Felpro did this on their print-o-seal intakes gaskets.
