The '78 pan has to be a truck pan if it's rear sump. If you have room for it use it. You will also have to use the pickup tube for it too.

Hey I have a 74 dodge dart 225 installed in my 56 dodge pick-up the oil pan has a pin hole in the side probably from all the New York salt over the years. Anyways I also have a 78 225 motor on an engine stand in the garage after looking at the 74 pan it is a center sump and the 78 is a rear sump will these pans interchange or should I just pull the pan and weld the pin hole? also is there any aftermarket or nos pans for the 74 Dart?
