So I'm looking for my intake in the garage and I come across a valve cover with parts I thought I was missing like the rocker arm assembly etc... My question is I have 2 sets of rockers one steel (?) and the other what looks like bronze. Which is the preferable set? The bronze I believe came from a 70 and the other unknown but the valve cover had some red paint left in spots.

They are all steel. One just got colored by oil and contaminants.

Use the ones that wobble the least on the shaft.

Make sure to clean out all the oil holes through them too. :D

The set that I found hiding under the shelf looks almost brand new there that clean.
