What needs to be done to put BBP axles from a 7 1/4 rear into a 7 1/4 that has SBP axles. A guy on here said they wouldnt work but has anyone done this? Or what would i need to do to make it happen.

Thanks

No can do. Wont work. It might be possible to redrill the SBP axles to the LBP but I have not checked to see if the flange has enough "meat" to do this.

The big bolt 7 1/4 had wider brakes and the housing is narrower as a result. The axles are the same length overall, but the bearing is farther from the flange on the big bolt pattern axles. You have to swap the whole assembly, but it's likely you'll need to keep the parking brake cables for use on the newer axle.

The bearing is also a different size. The outer diameter is larger, and will not fit the SBP housing. Also the axle retainer has 5 bolt holes, where the SBP retainer has 4 holes.
