Following hei parts purchase install,,,,,got a Echlin IC24 coil and Echlin ICC1 connector (s539) Coil is (2) pin and connector is (2) pin with 2 wires on one pin and one on the other, for a total of 3. (pictured in parts needed in hei conversion post) Coil has no pos(+) or neg(-) markings, connector has no markings but fits on coil only one way and has three (3) wires, they are (2) green with yellow stripes and (1) red with black stripe. QUESTION What is the polarity of the wires in question? Are the green with yellow stripe wires coming from the (+)pos side of the coil?, with the black with red stripe coming from the (-) side? or vice versa?!!?!?!?!? thanks in advance jeff |

For those of you who are challenged like me, i think the following is correct: Found out by reading and traveling around town today, that the single wire coming from the coil connector S539 on the Echlin IC24 coil (red with black strip) is the POS wire. The other 2 wires which are green with a yellow strip are the NEG wires. Of course your wires may be diff colors, but it seems to me now that the side of the coil/connector with 1 wire would in this case be POS and the side with 2 wires on oil/connector would be NEG, maybe, "regardless of color". Any gurus disagree please reply, as, i would prefer not fry anything. jeff |
