Post subject:  The second slantkoda

I had to post a thread on this, I have been wanting to build a slantkoda ever since dad built the first one. Lou has it now. I finally have manged to do it it is mostly stock right now even a one barrel carb it is so stock.

I have a long way to go before I call this thing finished but it is together and driving already could even be raced just wouldnt be very fast right now. on this one we moved the radiator forward 4 inches instead of the motor back 4 like the first one.
I think this thing has turned out really neat looking and by moving the radiator forward I didn't have to mess with the original heater. On the first one when the motor was moved back it created a problem with the heater box.

I will post some pictures soon don't have any right now to post of it.

Take a look on the slanted network at what we can do for you with your project. I am trying to start doing some more fabrication and sheet metal work. Dad (Meril Bruner) had almost stopped doing this I am trying to get back up and running with it.
I grew up in his garage watching and helping him. I have done several cars as well. I originally built the 64 dart that Larry Chesney has now and just finished doing floorboards and roll cage, as well as tieing the frame together on Robs duster. I started welding when I was 13 helping dad by crawling into the tight places that he couldn,t get anymore. Check the thread out and let me know if I can help anyone out. Or if you all can help me to get this buisness back up and running.

Don't Forget that Gary Bruner My cousin can do almost any slant six engine work that you may need.

Lukus,

I would be interested to know what that 1bbl slantkota would run in the 1/8 and the 1/4 before you get into modifying it :-)

Ruster ran 19.1 in the 1/4 2 yeas ago before the real engine was installed :-)

Good luck!

Several of us stopped by the Bruner's place after the banquet this year and got to see Slantkoda II. It's a very nice installation. Some nice refinements since their first effort. I want one!

They happen to have a Dakota sitting there just begging for someone to step up and say, "Make me one of those too!" :D

Greg Hopefully some 1/8 mile passes soon.
the truck has high gears in the rear end and 14 inch tires which will lower them bck down some. it is a new motor but stock far as I know I didn't build it I traded for the motor.

Lou hopefully when the season starts I will be able to get somebody to bring it to some of the events and drive it.

Rob that is a really good point that other dakpta we have was a 4 wheel drive truck so it sets up nice. all the 4 wheel stuff has been removed so I think it would be a great truck to convert to a slantkoda. another one would be nice to see. I have really enjoyed building this one, would really like to build another if anyone was interrested in buying that one and doing so.

Post those pics! What I saw after the banquet looked very good! Like Rob, I want one too! Question, do certain year trucks lend themselves to this conversion?

I also like the Slantkota idea. The problem for those of us in PA (and probably other states) is that it has to have the correct smog stuff for the year of the vehicle to get inspected. If you put an old motor in a 80's or 90's truck that might be an issue for inspection. Don't think there is a cutoff on they years either.

Wayne, Greg is right the years really don't have anything to do with it but both of those trucks were the 4 cylinder 5 speed that no one wanted. I drove that one a long time as a 4 cylinder it was bad no power at all.

Not much has changed since you all saw it I just got the seats, shifter, and grill back in it. done a lot of tuning on the motor but havent change in looks very much.
