12;10 is a great quarter mile time.......

Your mph seems low.

Haven't done much with the Dart since 2011. Seems lot's of real life stuff got in the way.
Anyhoo, I ran the Dart a few times Saturday and had a blast. Still stock 225/904/3.21 gear. Didn't check the timing, valves, plugs, nuttin'.
Only changes were from 195/75-14s to 195, 70-14s.
Last time out in 2011 it ran a best of:

Best ET: 12.10
Best MPH: 60.32
Best 60 Ft. 2.625
Best R/T .642

This time it was very similar times but slower MPH until
I removed the breather assembly from the carburetor
and it went:
11.95 @ 60.08mph
60ft 2.611
R/T .569
So evidently the air filter assembly is rather restrictive for
even the 1bbl or maybe i just need a new filter...lol.
Anyway, it was fun. Can't wait to go back.

Life is full of fun things, staring right at you but often obscured. Glad you are enjoying your car!

Maybe it won't take another 4 years to knock off 0.15 sec. lol

Added offy intake, 500 holley, valve job and -90 off head, HEI and recurve. Dart ran 11.14 at 65.3mph in 1/8. Traction is limited now.

The big 2 barrel and increased compression made a nice seat of the pants improvement but seems to be a little soft on the bottom end compared to the 1 barrel until I added the HEI and re-curve. That really woke the engine up and made traction a big issue with the open differential and 195 tires.

The next logical step seems to be a Suregrip or some form of locked rear axle.

Made a few 1/4 runs with the G-Tech.
Got a little better at launching the car and ran a best of 16.63 @ 83.4 mph. I am really pleased with how the 500 holley runs.

Good progress! Carb jetting and ign advance curve tuning can bring up the off-line jump. If you really want to wake it up, consider getting a higher stall torque converter.

Thanks for the encouragement Lou. Once I get around to swapping in my hotrod engine a hi stall converter will go in with it. I'm just having fun with this stocker for now.

Tuned the accelerator pump and took some weight out of the dart. Went 16.34@84.6mph on the g-tech.
