Helllo!
The other day my dart ran out of gas. My brother was driving and he thought it wasn't starting because of some electrical reason so he started cranking over the engine, about 5 times in a row. After that he decided it was the gas that was out and went and filled up. (btw my fuel/temp gauges don't work thats why he didn't think it was the gas on the first turn) Since then my heat blower is no longer working. I checked the fuse and it wasn't blow but the wrong amp fuse was in there ( 10amp instead of 20amp) so i replaced it with a 20amp and it still doesn't work. Now Im not sure if the two are realated but anyway no heat! Im not worried because its already summer here ( california :lol: ) but i would like everything just to be working on it so any tips that may help are appreciated. Thanks!

I have the same issue in mine from time to time. My problem is the connector on the back of the speed switch. Wiggling it about usually clears it up.

If that doesn't help, get out your test light or multimeter and start checking for power in that circuit from the fusebox to the switch and then to the fan. I don't think the cranking is related personally.

Quick & dirty test; start the engine & turn blower on high - open the hood & smack the blower motor a few times with a screwdriver handle. If the blower starts up then the motor is no good.
Anything beyond that & you will need a digital voltmeter ($20 at radioshack or home despot), a wiring diagram, & a basic understanding of electrical circuits. It'll be easier to help you once I understand how much you about auto repair.

being semi-new to electrical, where exactly is the speed switch? i have been behind the dash so a short description would do. Thanks

It is the [ “offâ€￾ – “lowâ€￾ – “Highâ€￾] switch at the heater controls. Feel up behind dash to back of switch, (good luck with that if you have big hands, LOL) and move the wires while fan is in on position. If it starts, than there is a lose connection, or bad wire feeding the fan.

As THOR stated, you really need to trace out the circuit from fuse block to fan switch to fan.
