when you say rebuilt, is the engine ready to install?

Rebuilt meaning what exactly? Rebuilt to stock specification, or modified internals for more power?

What cam? Did you measure your combustion chamber volume? Did you measure how far down the pistons are in the block at TDC?

What intake/carburetor are you using?

The more info you can provide, the better we can help.

Normally, upgrades include the following.

2.25" exhaust from manifold to muffler, then a smaller size out the back to keep noise down, upgrade to electronic ignition with a recurved distributor for your specific vehicle,
And Upgrade to a 2 barrel carburetor (Super Six).

After that, its time to go inside the engine and change stuff. I am sure I'm forgetting a few things, and others will be kind to point them out.
