Post subject:  Oil Pressure Prob

Hi All
Fired my injected slant yesterday and after running a very short time it blew the oil filter seal. The oil lines are not blocked , I was wondering where the oil pressure releif valve was located. This engine had a complete rebuild some years ago and this is the first time its been started.
Any ideas ?????

Regards Rob

Hello,
Rob, the pressure relief valve is located as shown in the pic.
This pump is the American variety, but ours are the same, minus the filter mounting pad.

If the piston and bore are gummed up, use crocus paper or be VERY gentle with the finest wet and dry paper you can get. 1200 would be ok.

There are no hidden tricks to cleaning the relief valve, just be sure to clean it very well and re oil the parts before re-assembly.

regards,Rod :D
