| Post subject: | Removing LCA pivot shaft? |
Hey all, I'm rebuilding a set of LCA's for my Dart and got stuck on the pivot shaft... it just keeps turning. Is there a trick to unscrewing the nut, or something I'm missing? Thanks, Bill '68 Dart /6, '69 Cuda V8 Hillsboro, OR |

An impact wrench might work. Just keep giving it short bursts. The impact will tend to move the nut slightly more than the shaft or bolt, and the nut will eventually come off. Just had to use that trick on the strut nut when I replaced the struts on my sisters Saturn.... |

Thanks for the reply! Just trying to separate the LCA from the K-frame and the shaft turns freely so I can't loosen the but to remove it. I don't have air tools, so looking for other ideas to get it off. |

If you've unloaded the torsion bar, try loading it back up. |

Unfortunately it's already out of the car... LCA's are the last part attached to a loose k-frame. |

Got-r-done! Just needed to soak long enough in PB Blaster, then put a vise-grip on the shaft and the nuts came loose. |
