Has anyone run 245/60/15 with a 2.76 rear? If so, were there any issues? Thanks. |

The 2.76 gear ratio was the only problem I had with that combo... DD |

Was it too slow or a problem with braking with that combo? |

That ratio is high... resulting in sluggish acceleration. The vehicle did drive well on the open highway but was a "dog" around town. DD |

That tire is about an inch taller than the 205/70/14 on the car now. The extra inch would make that much of a difference? I was planning on 225/60/15 and 245 to help fill the space at the back. Thanks. |

I'm running 235/60-15s all the way around on a Demon and 205/60-15s on a 4-door Dart. The Demon has stock Mopar cop car wheels, the Dart has Magnum 500s, both with stock offset. The 235s get about as close to the spring as I am comfortable. I tried a pair of 255/60s on the rear and took them off because they were up against the spring when the wheel was mounted. There are no problems of any kind with the Dart. The 205s replaced 195/75-14s. The bigger chrome wheel seems to fill the wheel well even though the rolling diameter of the 205/60 isn't that much greater than the original tires. |

Would I have any problems with fit on the back (245/60/15) on a F Body? |

Yep. Do the math. The 245/60R15 tire is 26.6" diameter. The 205/70R14 is 25.3" diameter. That's "only" 1.3" difference in diameter, but the circumference difference is 83.6" vs. 79.5". Which means your engine speed at 60 mph will be 2092 rpm with the bigger tire, 2200 rpm with the smaller tire. Both will have you running below the torque peak and make the car doggy/sluggish in stop-and-go traffic, but the effect will be exaggerated with the bigger tire. You'll be in the power valve all the time trying to get the car safely up to speed; fuel economy in town will suck. On the highway, the car will "want" to run 80+ mph with the bigger tire, 75+ with the smaller tire.Either of these tire sizes would likely make you much happier overall with 3.23 gears. |

Dan, thank you for your response. The original tires were 195/75/14 at 25.5" diameter I was thinking 215/60/15 which is 25.2 in the front and 235/60/15 in the back (to fill the space) which is 26.1" diameter. Would the extra .6 make that much of a difference? Thanks. |

What affects engine speed at any given RPM is the overall diameter of the drive wheels. Front tire size doesn't have an effect of this nature. Different-size tires front/rear is usually not a very good idea on a street-driven car. Aannnnnd…what year and model is this? |

Thanks, Joshua, Doc, Dan and 2 Darts for your time, responses and patience. I finally went with 225_60_15's all round. Thanks again. |
