ALL stock 1968 Dodge Dart slant I put some worn big tires on the rear..have high air pressure in tire .. I can brake and spin the one tire...obviously the ft. brakes are much better then the rear.... going up hill in ft. of our home. any thoughts for the track? It looks like the air pressure is a little high. The rear end may be too high in the air which will transfer weight to the front. Lower the back if you can. Also, those MTs should get sticky if you get them hot so a burnout will help at the track. Sure-Grip will help more. Hot Lap or other tire treatment can also help. |

well, I don't think it is too high see photo [img][img]http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/1186/trackrat005.jpg[/img] Uploaded with ImageShack.us the Dart is stock so If Im correct it has a 7.25 rear, are there any Sure-Grips out there w/gears ...until I mod the motor/trans I feel that small rear can hold up..any thoughts? I saw an article on abodiesonly about a 1973 Dodge Dart w/ an explorer ? 8.8 rear in a SB V8 11.02 1/4 mile car. being on a buget they look cheaper then an 8 3/4/Dana 60 anyone know low bucks rears that will work now and later with some build up on motor..et al.[/img] |

There were sure grips for the 7.25" Dump some of the air out of the right rear tire. That helps a one-legger hook. If your running road pressure, dump passenger side tire pressure down around 18-22# Leave the other one alone. You'll have to play with it to get it right. VHT at the track will help with the launch. Don't know about the 8.8 Ford. I run an 8" Ford out of a '72-ish Maverick. Be careful with info from FABO. It's like reading the National Inquirer. The camera angle on your photo from the rear makes it look pretty high. 2¢ CJ |

I have an Explorer 8.8 in my Valaint. Its not a boltin swap. It is however an excellent choice. |

The camera angle on your photo from the rear makes it look pretty high. 2¢ CJ nut why not find a 8.25? you can get a complete setup for like 200 bucks from the junk yard be careful as the 2.20 and 2.45 cases cant have better ratio's installed in them |
