Finding this page and the group great, but a little history page might be nice I had no Idea they still made S6's after 68, here in Australia they went to the HEMI 245's. Our 63 Valiant is coming up to 50 so parts are hard to find, if there are later modle bits which fit that will be good news. may be a pic of a few first S6's then some 70's 80's and a run down of the motor changes. Welcome on the board, Ray. The information you're after is available on this site, just not consolidated in one place. It would be an enormous project to do so. You may want to read the Wikipedia article, which is of decent but not perfect quality. What kinds of parts are you having difficulty finding?

It may not be politically correct to point you to another forum, but for historical facts from Australia, you also have the local moparmarketforum.com. It has a large section on slant six related stuff.
In addition to big brother allpar.com, you also have valiant.org as sources for historical facts, and they also have pages with further links.
Happy hunting.

Olaf.

Hi Dan, well a few thing for our 63 valiant, we have and early modle with a Canadian body, windscreen wipers are opposite side to an Australian made body, with out a long list we have had trouble with fuel gauge got a new sender unit and put in tank , but still gauge drops out occasionally so may need some thing else, headlight rim, the vents under the dash board have rusted and leak on your feet, wondered if there was a repair kit or similar, we have no windscreen washers and cant see where one would fit . I think the other questions I have asked in forum in the appropriate catagorie, RAY

See here -- they're even in Australia!

You need a windscreen wiper seal kit. Get it from Schumacher (pathetic website -- dig down through their A-body section and you'll find it.)

Also go over to DMT for some new firewall and underdash gaskets and seals. Not all the ones listed for US (LHD) vehicles will apply to your right-hooker, but many of them will. Or you can make new thick seal rings for where the vent box meets the round cowl holes with a length of square-section foam weatherstripping, cut to length and the ends glued together.

Here is a list of reliable parts suppliers for the early cars.

Look carefully just forward of the cowl grille with the bonnet open and you'll see two small dimples and one large one just in front of the outboard cowl grille slots. That's where the nozzles attach and go through. Finding the nozzles will be a bit of a search.
