Hi everyone!

A friend is trying to fix his A-904 gearbox attached to a Supersix after a breakdown of the torque converter. He has another converter ready to install and we are locating a new seal but we have a problem locating this other part, as we have no idea of what´s its name.

Could someone tell us this part´s name or even part number to get it located?. The pic has been taken with the torque converter removed. It´s like a bushing on the axle:

The input shaft is in the foreground. The reaction shaft (also known as the stator support) is in the background closest to the pump. The reaction shaft should be splined (toothed) it should not be smooth like that. The reaction shaft must be replaced.

Also from the picture, it looks like the drive dogs are broken off. Might need a total replacement of the pump. :cry: :cry:

Do you know where can we find these parts?, any website you know?

Is reaction shaft sold separately or will we have to buy the stator or a complete pump? What do you think is best?

I would buy a complete pump (you can probably get a decent used assembly from a "local" trans shop) - however, since it wiped the splines off the support you have lots of fine metal bits that are now spread thru the entire trans.

If it were mine I'd get the unit rebuilt- or the metal bits will cause valve body shift problems again & again.

Bad news, no doubt :cry: Thank you for your advice. I´ll pass this information to my friend so he can take a decision.

Thanks to all of you who have cast so much light on this issue :D I´ll try to follow it up in this thread.
