I was looking at purchasing this running engine/transmission combo on ebay. I thought it might work as a backup for my 64 Dart. It is advertised as being from a 65 Dart but with the blue color I had my doubts. The seller mentioned it had the 3 freeze plugs which would indicate it was a pre-67. Here are a few pics. If someone can let me know if it would be compatible with my 64 and what the value might be I would very much appreciate it. ![]() ![]()

Looks to me like a pre-'67 engine dressed for service in a '62-'66 A-body and painted a shade of blue never factory-applied to a Chrysler engine. |

Thanks for the reply. Sounds like it will work. I did notice the exhaust manifold uses the round counterweight. Will the 65 automatic transmission be compatible with my 64 push button automatic as well? |

You would need to swap the '64 valve body into the '65 transmission, then it will be compatible. |

Thanks again! I think you saved me from a purchase I didn't need to make. The current bid is $105 but no sense in buying another engine if mine is working fine. |

Why not just look up the engine number, then you'll know for certain what you've got. Olaf. |
