I got a couple AGM deep cycles that had to be removed from a fire system due to age. Yesterday evening around 8pm, Bobby and I hooked my 60 Watt, 12 volt drop light to one of them. Just went out to the shop. The drop light wasn't full bright, but it was still making quite a bit of light. That was 9:45 AM. I turned it off, and put the battery on my small 2-10 amp charger. It shouldn't get the battery too hot. I need to put a load tester to these things and see what they really have in them. Does the 12 hour run of the drop light say anything about the battery's condition? I'd think that was pretty good at a fairly constant 5 amp draw. CJ |

If it really was 5 amps the whole 12 hours you drained 60 amp hours from the battery which isn't bad at all. What were the starting and ending voltages? Most flooded group 24 deep cycle batteries are 80 amp-hour and the AGM are in the same neighborhood. |

Silly me. Should have checked. I'll start another test on the other battery. CJ |

Never mind on that one. Went to 3½ volts as soon as I turned the light on. That was the one Bruce tried in Wendy's car apparently. It's going to recycle. After I get the other one charged back up, I'll do another load test. CJ |
