The Offy is better at low RPM and works easier with a stock exhaust manifold. Unless you go big with the cam, compression and head work it's likely to give you better ETs than a Clifford. A 500 CFM Holley 2bbl with an adapter matched to a Super Six 2bbl intake works quite well also and is potentially much cheaper. |

Depends on who you talk to and haw you build your setup. ANY of the 4 bbl setups will work well. Frank |

Yep, VERY dependent on motor buildup and desired driving characteristics. Lou |

Pretty much any post above is correct. I have seen stock manifolds that were modded to accept four barrel carbs that worked extremely well. On the drag strip, I don't think any of them are worth that much over another one. This is my OPINION. I do know that the Offenhauser is a great piece for the street. Lots of people like the Clifford for higher horsepower builds. I am going to use a Weiand on my next motor because it's what I have. I've seen them run good on other motor's, so why not mine? I wouldn't fret to much over the intake because the head is the place to spend the coin by far. Good luck! |
