I've just installed the intake and exhaust manifolds for the super six (2bbl) setup. I bolted on my carter 2bbl, and proceeded to start the car. It didn't start so I went back and looked and their was gas all over the intake and still dripping out of the carb gaskets. I rebuild the carb adding all new gaskets and it still leaks out of the 1. manifold to carb gasket 2. the gasket seperating the two lower butterfly valves from the rest of the carb and 3. the gasket for the float boal. I can't get it to stop leaking!!! what do I do guys, I need a lot of help! Also, on the intake manifold on the drivers side, there is a round unthreaded hole and a verticle rectangle hole. what are these for? As my car would start to start, exhautst would come out of one and gas from the other, plus it was loud! How would you suggest I plug these? |

Sounds like your carb float is stuck. The unthreaded round hole and rectangular hole next to it are for the EGR valve which you won't need. Make a metal plate to cover them and use the two studs on either side of the holes to hold it in place. Use Permatex Ultra Copper high temperature RTV silicone to seal it. Bob D |

Make sure you installed the needle valve the right direction. I've seen them installed wrong more than once. |
