Need a little help ID'n an engine I got last night. SL6 out of a truck, mid 60's early 70's. Ford blue, casting numbers are 2463430-3. Thanks |

what are the benefits/drawbacks to spark lug tubes? |

Well, the benefits are that the factory used them in the 60-about 77 or 78 cylinder heads. If you don't use spark plug tube on a head designed for them, then (a) you have to leave the little gaskets on the plugs when you install them, (b) you might drop the plugs into the lifter gallery during installation, and (c) oil will leak out all over the side of the block when the motor is running. |
