We're trying to work on a newer exhaust manifold that we're putting on our 225 '67 Dodge Dart. I just had a call asking what goes into a threaded hole that is located under the carburetor on the firewall side of the car, and I can't get over there to see what they're talking about. That hole wasn't on the old manifold that we're replacing.

Is this some kind of smog pump that is supposed to be in there or something? I don't have access to see what is supposed to be in there so I can tell them what to put in. They tried a 3/8" bolt to see if it would fit and it wouldn't.

Sorry for my ignorance, but I'm at work and can't do much to help, and any help as always is appreciated!

Maybe an O2 sensor?

Sounds like the stock location for the O2 sensor used on some lean burn systems in the mid 80s. Put an O2 sensor in the hole and wire up a gauge in the cockpit. Alternatively, use a pipe plug of the proper size and thread.

O2 sensor or an 18mm plug. A pipe plug might go in, but it's not what belongs there.

So an 18mm plug will fit? I'll see if I can catch my Dad and tell him.
