I think we may have a problem but wanted to check here.
I ended up with the input shaft and pump out of a Jeep transmission. The input shaft has two sealing rings on it.
Is this a lock up converter type shaft and pump? We were trying to use the wide ratio gears out of the Jeep transmission The input shaft from the slant transmission was too close on the output shaft, and damaged the input shaft when we torqued the front pump down. That's why the pump and shaft from the Jeep.

I'm afraid we just installed a lockup style input shaft. There was no center hole in the shaft. I'm a bit confused from my search of the Jeep A-904's by some online information surrounding the shaft having a machined area on the outside of the shaft, and the presence of the two sealing rings.

Got any ideas?

Id there an oil hole in between the two sealing rings for a lock-up clutch?

The end of the shaft didn't have a hole either. Why would it have two sealing rings?

The stamped number from the pan rail is as follows:

8953005018 9328 9152

I think we're OK. Without the passage, I begin to think they didn't want to use two different pumps in production. I'm just not sure.

If the transmission needs to come out, it needs to do so today. I won't have time to start over next week.

Shifts just fine.

Interesting conglomeration of parts. It seems to work well.

I need to find something other than an OEM front band.

Off to Google. :D
