A driver? Not hardly.... what you don't see is the trailer used to tow it over, and the registration sticker dating back to '99.

Engine wound up having no compression on cylinders 2 and 3. I figured it was either a bad head gasket, or bad rings. I had it running and even driving like that, and when you floored it, the engine came back to life in a rip-roaring cloud of mosquito killing smog.

Then you would take your foot off, and it would go back to 4 cylinder duty.

Being as poor as a 23 year old can be, I decided to install a different engine rather than take this one apart and fix hopefully just the head gasket. Three phone calls, and the great shell game round 1 later, Dusteridiot and I had the 'ol Spearmint Duster engine sitting in the bay of this baby poo green V100.

When we removed the old engine, we found out what happens to a bellhousing when you forget to remove the bottom most bolt from the bellhousing... it destroys the case...

So, we got the new engine in, old engine and trans out, loaded up the old engine in his truck and hauled it back to his place for use at a later date. The following day, I traveled down to Ceejs houz to pick up his old Valiant transmission. I had to install the kickdown servo, adjust the bands, and install the tail housing. Once I got that done it sat for a week.

I finally got the trans installed (also had to pick up new cooler lines, mine snapped) in the Valiant, and assembled most of the under hood stuff. The following day I finished installing everything except the transmission kickdown rod (which I have to mod since its a one barrel rod), the exhaust, and an electronic voltage regulator (I only have the original single field alternator which is dying... :( ).

Got in, cranked her up, filled the radiator, filled the transmission, and took off for a maiden voyage around the block. :o

Over the course of the last week I have: Installed the exhaust, filled power steering fluid, installed my larger rear wheeels for mileage purposes (215/70r14 compared to 185/60r13), removed all debris from the backseat and trunk, and put on a small chrome tip for the exhaust to look a little cooler.

Once I have $77 I will get her road legal, and start driving!

Here are some current pictures!

The engine looks awesome man. Even if you had to sink $2000 to get this car running it would've been a good deal. Nice job of making out like a bandit.

Lol, including purchase price, I've got less than $800 in this car, which is daily driver status as of 5pm tomorrow.

Thanks!

Nice! Dusteridiot has a plethora of Signet stuff we are planning to toss on this sucker. Should be a really nice decked out V100 which will throw the experts off...

I am going to install the alternator from a '90 Dodge ram, and bypass the ammeter. That should cover just about anything I will ever put in the car. Anyone have one of these alternators lying around? I also need a heater core.

As planned, now that the Valiant will drive, I am petting go of the Swede. Anyone interested in a 95 Volvo 850? Not asking alot forward it, just need enough to recoup expenses on the Valiant, plus a new alternator, 2 tires, and a heater core.

More later!

Welp, she's a running and driving machine now! Got her registered Friday, and been doin the deed ever since. All I've had to do is some fine tuning so far, no major issues. I am thinking about going to a different Carb though, I cannot stand BBDs. I've got it set well where it drives real nice and has good power, but for the life of me I can't get this thing to cooperate at full throttle.

Worry about that later...

I still need a heater core, I am going to try and repair the one I've got first, I need HEAT! It sucks driving to work, or driving home with foggy windows and no heat... blech!

I've encountered a situation that always seems to happen at the worst time. So here's the deal, I don't have space for her right now, and I'm not sure when I will get it. For the right price, I will deliver the car to your driveway.

I am looking for $1500. I can give anyone specific details through PM, additional photos and or video. This thing is reliable as a rock, and gets respectable mileage ~22-23 highway @ 65.

Whoever is interested, pm me and we'll talk. Offers welcomed!
