im just curious as to what gears everybody is running if you could post the weight of the car gears engine output trap RPM kinda curious to see im running 68 dart 3150lbs 3.91's (saving for 4.88's) 215hp 5K |

456s,go tru the traps at about 6400,with 28 inch rear tires.I think 488s are too much.Guzzi Mark |

yea i was thinking about that but you also have about 75 more hp and a way lighter car...its just a set of gears so will find out! |

66 Cuda 3250 lbs 170 engine either 3.91 with a 23 in tire or 4.56 with a 26 inch tire about 98 mph 204 rear wheel hp and 354 ft lbs rear wheel torque. |

62 Lancer @ 2700 lbs. 4.30 gearing, 12.70 et @ 104 mph Hitting 6000 at the finish line w/ 26 inch tires. (My Hyper-Pak intake likes the lower RPMs...) I "geared-up" from 4.56 and would go back to that ratio if not spraying N2O DD |

wow thank you guys! seems like ET vs Trap RPM is all over the place! it seems that weight is a major factor in gear... i noticed that the lighter cars arn't using more than a 4.30 but the 3K and up are in the 4.56 range... very interesting... im just looking at my set up and it seems that 4.56's would not gain me a 600-900 rpm gain from 3.91's... |

Seymore also runs 456s.Ed,stuff some 488s in it and twist the poop out of it.Then you can re build the motor the way you want and the way you would if you had it to do again.I know your next will bee even better.mark |

lol... im not blowing up this motor on purpose... i have two other cars to build before i get another slant build from the ground up...

I am giveing Terry my 13.00 second back up motor.He went to the trouble to get a coffee mug made at Vegas last year with my run of a life time,000.lite and a 11.96 dial on a 11.97.BEST present I have ever gotten,actually showed up on my birthday.I want to give him back the best present he will hopefully ever get,my spare back up motor that ran a 13.00 at Sacremento 2 years ago.This motor will bee delivered at Sacremento,NO charge,but he will have to follow my guiedlines to make it run like it did in my car.Guzzi Mark |
