Post subject: | How/where to fill up fluid for convertible top motor? |
Hi I tried the convertible top switch today and the motor seems to be kinda noisy. I think the fluid is running low. Any advice on how to top up the fluid? I looked around the motor and cant seem to find it. (Its 830pm here so that might be the reason why...) Anyone with a picture of the motor that shows where to top up, would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Oh btw its a '66 Dart 270 Convertible. Syed |

Syed, Top pumps do make a bit of wereing -whining noise. The fill plug is located on the driver’s side end of your car’s pump, and it is a small rubber plug near the top of resivour. Pry it out Tips here for filling & bleeding hydraulics here, and here. Looking from trunk to front of car: See black rubber stopper just above bolt on right hand end of pump. That is the fill bung. I use a squeezable bottle with a length of tubing stuck on its tip to fill with: |

I know your driving on the wrong side, my pump’s plug is on the right side, perhaps your pump is mounted the other way around. I don’t remember if mounting of these pumps are indexed or not. But, you get the idea. LOLBill |
