Holy cow that's a nice Swinger! I really hope tour Napa carburetor works, as most remanufactured carburetors are junk. Are you able to have your original rebuilt? Sounds like if it runs ok except idle, it could be: Misadjusted valves, Misadjusted air/fuel mixture screw, Vacuum leak and/or Plugged idle circuit in the carbuetor. Anymore details on the car? ~RDE~ |

The carburetor that came with the car was a rebuilt one. The carburetor that is on is leaking out the side so I thought replacing it would be best. I really hope tour Napa carburetor works, as most remanufactured carburetors are junk. Are you able to have your original rebuilt? Sounds like if it runs ok except idle, it could be: Misadjusted valves, Misadjusted air/fuel mixture screw, Vacuum leak and/or Plugged idle circuit in the carburetor. Anymore details on the car? ~RDE~ It will idle in the morning when I crank it up but will die after I drive it around some. It is fine as long as I keep some pressure on the gas pedal. I haven't adjusted the valves yet and plan to this weekend. The fuel pump is leaking so I ordered another one from Napa. I am going to do the fuel line mod when I get the carburetor and fuel pump. Hopefully I will have some luck with them vs the advance auto/auto zone carbs. Although I do want to put either a 2bbl, or 4bbl with vacuum secondaries on it. The first thing I am going to performance wise is put on a bigger exhaust pipe. maybe a different muffler something a little more deep sounding. It has been repainted, but I think the interior is original. I have the original hub caps in the trunk. It has 20k on the odometer but I am not sure if it is original it is in pretty nice condition. I checked the odometer vs mile markers and it is very accurate. It was made in Windsor,Ontario,Canada if that is any thing special or not. It has some electrical gremlins I need to sort out but I am pretty good with that side of things. I am going to school to become a mechanic so that helps. but other then that is seems to be a nice car. btw here is the carb I ordered https://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/Cata ... 20+2020014 |

Looks like you got a good deal on this one! I like that steering wheel. Mine seems a lil big as it dang near hits my legs! Good deal on going with a 1920 holley... Heaven forbid you ever deal with a 1945! |
